Our Veterinarians

Dr. Louise, DVM DAVDC

Veterinarian

Dr. Louise Marron, a Colorado native, is a board-certified veterinary dentist. She also provides general medical care for companion animals. With an aptitude for science and a passion for connecting with animals, Dr. Marron recognized Veterinary Medicine was her calling as a young girl. She began working in her home-town veterinary clinic at 13 years of age and has never strayed off the veterinary path. She attended college and veterinary school at Colorado State University. Upon graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she joined the team at Alpine Animal Hospital. She continues to enjoy the challenges and rewards of her life’s work now as a dental specialist for animals.

Dr. Marron deeply values her family, friends, and the Carbondale community. Her four-legged family members include Laroche, a standard poodle, Skeeter, a 33-year-old mare who has been a steadfast companion for 30 years, Honey, a molly mule steed for the mountainous backcountry, and Mona, the giant tortoise. In her free time, Louise loves to fly, bike, horseback ride, ski, snowboard, SCUBA dive, and travel around the world.

Dr. Melissa, DVM

Dr. Gisleson joined Alpine Animal Hospital in 2016 as a veterinarian for companion animal medicine and surgery. Ever since she can remember, animals have played an integral part in her life. Through her studies and experience with animals and their owners, she has become very passionate about how the human-animal bond can impact one’s life for the better. Melissa has been involved in veterinary medicine since she was 16 and started working at her local veterinary clinic in Illinois. She completed her undergraduate studies at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and then went on to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2013.
Dr. Gisleson with her husband, Andy, and daughter, Emma have settled into life in the mountains and enjoy hiking adventures in the summers and snowshoeing and skiing in the winters. Their fur-babies include Hiccup, a mastiff mix, Luther, a boxer, and 2 cats, Ember and Midge.

Dr. Jennifer, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Jennifer Davis graduated from Colorado State University in 2009. After several years in private practice, she turned her attention toward shelter medicine and became the Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter’s Spay/Neuter Program Director, as well as the Aspen Animal Shelter’s staff veterinarian. She is a long-time local, having lived in Pitkin County for over 20 years, and is very passionate about providing quality, accessible care to pets and their families throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Her special interests lie in spay/neuter and diagnostic imaging, like x-rays, ultrasound, etc. We were thrilled to have her join our team here at Alpine in 2019. When she’s not providing care to our local pet population, she enjoys cooking, skiing, and spending time with her family and newly rescued mutt, Traynor.
